Can you recommend some crime noir? I love noir too. I especially love the classic hardboiled stories by Dashiell Hammett and Raymond Chandler.

Anything by Ken Bruen and Charlie Huston to start you off. They are both current and should stacked at your local library. (You can maybe even get to download from there too,) Ken Bruen's books are usually set in Western Ireland and you can pour through them like water. I love him. Huston is a fantastic modern writer for crime noir. He even did a crime noir vampire series (Joe Pitt series) that really changed the way I like my vampire books to be.

If you like noir, try the Factory novels by Derek Raymond. They are a little bit Poe and very Chandler.
