Slash Revolution finally reaches China?

http://sinosphere.blogs.nytimes.com/2014/05/21/why-many-young-chinese-women-are-writing-gay-male-erotica/?_php=true&_type=blogs&_php=true&_type=blogs&_r=1&

I just now stumbled across this. I wonder how man many in China are deeply shocked and appalled by this strange female behavior.

I'm pretty sure I've seen slash in Chinese for a while now...but maybe the phenomenon is growing.

Maybe it's just recently gotten big enough for the media to notice. Also, government crackdown on anything sexual are usually good for a slow news day.

Still, I wouldn't mind seeing any native Chinese media coverage just for the sake of my general slash-fan interest.

err, bad news

A new investigative report from Anhui TV claims that Chinese authorities have arrested at least 20 people for the crime of writing male/male fanfic

I hate shit like this. Thought-policing is ineffective, sex-thoughts policing is even less so, and policing of womens' sexuality is maddening.

Yes, I was just about to add this. Slash is huge in China but it can land you in prison.

From my information, a lot of the women jailed were writing Sherlock/John. Sherlock is massive in China, so much that on a visit, the Chinese premier officially asked our UK prime minister when the next series was happening.

I've known of the existence of m/m Chinese manhua for at least half a decade or more.
