Re: What is/would be on your shipping wall?
(Anonymous) 2014-05-27 12:12 am (UTC)(link)Aziraphale/Crowley (Good Omens) - One of my few exclusive OTPs. I have a thing for spy relationships where the participants are on opposite sides, and add in 6000 years of familiarity and an arrangement that flies quite literally in the face of a cosmology and I'm pretty much forever sold.
Ivan/Victoria (RED) - Spies. Spies in love. Cheerful ancient sociopathic killers who adore each other, and wore each other's bullet wounds as signs of love, and rescue each other, and kill each other to save each other, and giddly plot to kill presidents together. I flailed so hard at the end of the first movie. You have no idea.
Spock/McCoy (ST:TOS) - Admittedly, I ship McCoy/everyone, more or less, but S/Mc was my first Trek ship and I've never really let it go. Again, with the bickering antagonists from opposite sides of an ideological plane who would kill and die to preserve each other. It is a thing, I have a thing.
Rick/Evelyn (The Mummy) - Because it is so fucking cute. With the adventures and the "I am a librarian!" and the "Patience is a virtue" and the whole "No harm ever came from reading a book" and ... and I love them, they are my happy place.
Eowyn/Faramir (LotR) - Because it really made me happy that they both found someone who'd value them after the hell they both separately went through. No baggage, no complicated history, just a moment of sunlight after horror and something warm and equal for them both.
Londo/Timov (Babylon 5) - Yes, she was only there for one episode, and yes, I ship Londo with like half the cast on the grounds that he's polyamorous and desperately in love with practically everyone, but Timov was the best thing, and the snarky thing they have, where they hate each other and snipe at each other but also respect each other and make sacrifices for each other and would choose each other just for honesty's sake ... It's a good thing. I like the thing.
Tony/Pepper/Rhodey (MCU) - Or any sub-combination of the above. Because I like them, I like the weird, incredibly dysfunctional family they've built up, the shit they've been through together, the shit they've put each other through, the way they pull back together despite it. They're a unit in my head. I like them.
I have basically two types of OTP: snarky, bickering semi-antagonists who would kill and die for each other, and adorable, happy-making romantic units full of crazy people who've been through shit. There is occasionally a fair bit of overlap ;)
Re: What is/would be on your shipping wall?
Agreed so hard! Those two just hit all the right notes for me.
