I doubt he minded you not knowing him, and the fact that you didn't wouldn't be a decent reason for him to not be nice to you all the same.

I've heard only good things about Patrick Stewart though, and I'm glad he seems to be such a fantastic guy! (He's done a lot of great things with his popularity, and you've got to appreciate that.) It always feels good to hear celebrities are sweethearts.
