...wow, that actually worked.

I'm nuts about fic crossovers, and my favorites are the ones I never would have thought of that some genius author nonetheless made seem totally plausible. What are your favorite crossover fics?

I recently read a fic where Agent Coulson grew up in Nightvale and it makes SO MUCH SENSE

https://www.fanfiction.net/s/7908794/1/The-Aperture-Games (Portal, The Hunger Games, long and complete)

https://www.fanfiction.net/s/6345119/1/You-Can-t-Take-the-Sky-From-Me (Firefly, A:tLA, sadly dormant)

https://www.fanfiction.net/s/3451276/1/High-Communication (Star Wars, saying anything else would ruin it, oneshot)

I'm always surprised when I read a HP crossover that works.

Have you read "Crumpets Aren't My Style"? It's an SG-1 crossover that I love.

^^I have read that Night Vale one and it is very cash.

http://archiveofourown.org/works/1062757/chapters/2131218 (WTNV/His Dark Materials (or Northern Lights), seriously one of the best instances of Canon But With Daemons I have ever seen)

https://www.fanfiction.net/s/7679074/1/The-Dragon-King-s-Temple (A:tLA and Stargate SG1, long as hell, pretty much the best Avatar crossover in existence)

https://www.fanfiction.net/s/2813540/1/Full-Metal-Berserker (Berserk and Fullmetal Alchemist, if you liked Berserk you'll probably like this. Haven't read it in a while so YMMV but I remember liking it a hell of a lot)

https://www.fanfiction.net/s/8753582/1/Overlady (Familiar of Zero and Overlord, fair warning I haven't finished this since I never played Overlord and I figured I should rectify that, but in a sea of shitty FoZ crossovers this one was pretty damn good)

https://www.fanfiction.net/s/8234227/1/Debt-of-a-Sword (Fate: Stay/Night and Sekirei, this is technically a spinoff of one of the Big Name Fics in FSN fandom but fuck that, this is like 1000% better written and plotted. No actual knowledge of Sekirei required.
Also, "Hill of Swords" by the same author is not quite good enough that I would rec it straight up, but goddamn if I don't have to give it props for having a fantastic platonic friendship between the male and female leads, and NO ROMANCE PLOT in a crossover between a visual novel and a harem anime.)

shit I can rec crossovers all day, gimme a fandom you want and if I am even remotely into it I probably remember a fic that was at least pretty okay

Ooh, I finished the WTNV/HDM one yesterday! I actually quite want to read HDM, now. (I also want to pet a margay, but that's neither here nor there.)

http://www.fimfiction.net/story/4285/crossed-paths MLP + Indiana Jones + Samurai Jack, with elements of everything from Thief to Alan Wake. I've seriously considered using it as the central example for an essay on how to balance characters with wildly different skills, making sure none of them take over the narrative or fade into the background.
