An illegitimate child? No. Even if he's the kid of Rhaegar rather than Ned, he's still illegitimate. If he was a Targaryen and Dany was dead, it might possibly be a question if she took the throne first and then died and he was the only Targaryen left. Otherwise not going to happen.

He could always be made legitimate at the point of a sword. Maybe with the help of, you know, some old servant found to claim that R and L were married secretly, that sort of thing.

But the idea that bloodlines and claims of descent and legitimacy are the determining factor for who holds the throne, that's just never been the case.

Okay, well, then if it has to be at the point of a sword, do you really think Jon of all people would do that or remotely ever want the throne? Even if he did want it, he'd never force it and he'd be no better at the politics of Westeros than Ned was or Stannis would be.

I would argue that Jon is actually the one with the best chance of getting the throne, just because it would take another fifteen books for him to trek all the way to King's Landing.
