I don't really read the EU, so I can't say much (but whatever books he was in that I read...eh, I don't really recall him there much? So he didn't make a great impression on me.)

But it always annoyed me that Luke remained a Commander in ROTJ but Lando got to be a General despite having betrayed Han, Chewie, Leia, and 3PO to Vader a year earlier and then pretty much rescuing Han (in canon) ...like, evidently there's no progression in the Rebellion? You get one rank and stick with it? And we just randomly appoint people generals? I get he had some maneuver at the Battle of Tanaab but what was so epic about it that he got to be a general??

(I mean, I have a similar issue with Han becoming a general, but they at least knew and had worked with Han for longer and Han hadn't betrayed them. But still...General Solo? I don't think so.

And who the fuck decided to make Anakin a general in the Clone Wars TV show? Like, who the fuck looked at Anakin Skywalker and said, "Yeah, he's general material." No, no, no, no. Only Jedi Masters should be generals in my opinion.)

(Sorry. I have weird issues, particularly related to command structure. I don't know why.)

I agree with this comment so much. I sputtered with derision at both Han and Lando being Generals. Only thing I can think of is that the Rebel Alliance had a really high death toll and had to replace a lot of their upper management. Except, then why was Luke snubbed? No sense. IT MADE NO SENSE.
