That reminds me of a strange incident when I was trying to track down my mother while we were out shopping. I asked a store attendant if she'd seen her, and said Mum was blonde. The store lady said she hadn't, and when Mum turned up said she wasn't blonde, but had "sandy" hair.

And here I thought "sandy" hair was a type of blonde.
