I've never read Exaxxion, only a few chapters of Gantz a while ago, and there's fanservice that feels -- well, it's really over the top and I think ill_omened calling it "incredibly adolescent" is spot-on. There's something so ridiculous about where it goes that it doesn't really feel insidious. It's more akin to a trashy b-movie or two teens trying to one-up each other with stuff that could happen or stories they totally heard did happen to a cousin's friend-of-a-friend... But it could fall into someone's deplorable/skeevy/gross categories.

It's quite impressive that you can make such a detailed judgment based on reading "only a few chapters", when there's almost 40 volumes to be had.

ayrt

Oops, I meant volumes! For some reason, I had it in my head that the series ran a lot longer. So looking up to where I remember reading to, it must have been ~24 volumes (I missed a couple volumes, but remember the Osaka team and the Kurono clone).
