I feel like they have to be translating it back and forth through some kind of horrible language dictionary, or something.

That almost feels likely, but I'm not sure if it's some translation thing or if OP is just trying to make their secrets as bizarre and confusing as possible. With fs how can you know? (I bet they want to be remembered at any rate, or they wouldn't keep using similar stories/language.)

They're entertaining though, and maybe that's the whole point.
