I love that this has become a serious concern/flail-worthy issue in the fandom.

Like, genuinely love it. Because it's not wrong, but it's hilarious that, in all the other shit, the milk is considered one of the most important.

I don't think anyone views it as actually important so much as funny and odd. Like, in the movie I remember just being like, "Wha? That's...weird." And apparently so did everyone else.

Although there was a nice little analysis about how it's not the Pierce really wants milk or is thirsty or anything. It's just a tiny way for him to demonstrate that Bucky is not allowed to have enough will of his own to even want a glass of milk. I dunno, I'm explaining it badly.
