he has mild Tourette's syndrome, which doesn't prevent him from working; the rest of his issues are self-diagnosed from countless hours looking up illnesses up on the internet. There's nothing preventing him from working.

the sad thing is that I'm so bitter now that even if their was something preventing him, I don't think I could feel any sympathy for him. When I look back on it, I've been covering for him literally his entire life-- down to doing his homework when he was in high school just so he could pass, but he quit anyway and refuses to get a GED-- and I guess I'm just tired. I didn't plan on spending my adulthood taking care of him like he was a baby. I didn't have kids expressly because I didn't want to be responsible for someone :\

Holy shit, no, this situation in untenable. Your brother thinks he can get away with all this because he's been getting away with it his entire life.

Like, I know you love your family and all, but you'd probably be healthier and happier in the long run if you got completely out from under that roof and well away from them. You're all caught up in extremely unhealthy relationship dynamics that will only drag you down if you try and stick with them.
