Language!

Also, just to explain as you have clearly missed the point. They are not saying it encompasses autism, but is one of the traits of autism.

Ugh don't defend this. People actually have autism as a disorder and it's actually insulting to see "don't be so autistic about it" used so casually. A disorder isn't' a slang term for you to throw around or pepper your speech with. It should be used in the clinical sense "this person is autistic" "this person has autism". But not as a casual insult.

I didn't miss your shitty point. I'm saying that the way you're using the word is wrong. As someone who as actually researched autism. As someone who has experienced autism.

So again. Fuck. Off.

AYRT (this time, not any other time) Not my point, not my comment. You are very rude. And who are you to say I haven't experienced autism, how do you know?

I'm sorry I just went through 14 years of bullying , bullying so bad that it made me hate myself and doubt my intelligence. 14 years of bullying because of my disabilities.

So to hear "oh don't be so autistic about it" kind of pisses me off a bit. As does this casual treatment of the word and insistence that a complex disorder is just "being obsessive about irrelevant shit."

Fuck no. I've watched retarded go through the euphemism treadmill and come out as a "slang term for stupid" for many people. It was even used against me growing up. And to see people doing the same with autistic.

Just hell no.

I am not going to be cool with that. It bothers me that you are defending this casual treatment of the word. If people think its okay to make "autistic" just a word that means "obsessed with irrelevant shit" then it will go the same way. I don't want "autistic" to be an insult thrown around.

It's kind of a painful issue for me.
