(Anonymous) 2014-05-30 07:00 am (UTC)(link)If we were talking about a real person you'd probably be right, but the book is written from a POV of "agency-having males are normal, agency-having women are abominations who will flout all the morals and burn society to smoldering ruins if they are not stopped" so ... nothing within the story encourages you to empathize with why she did things. Plenty of fans are into how competent, charismatic, and brilliant she is. But she's portrayed as a complete sociopath, in lieu of having sympathetic reasons for anything.
