It seems like every comic is always going to have bad periods. There are so many different writers who handle the characters...it's bound to lead to some painfully OOC or frustrating moments.

Who wouldn't, man? Who wouldn't. Though...IDK, maybe he'll 'be the better man' and spare them, but movie!verse Steve at least doesn't seem to mind killing. (Not saying he enjoys it or anything, mind.)

Hahaha, yes, good. I thought so! Once again I'm going to say you should get an account so I can recognize you more easily, but of course no pressure. :p

Well...I'd say that maybe the fangirl levels will lower a bit, but today they announced the release date for the movie, and once the dvd comes out we'll have special features and commentary and all kinds of goodies, so I doubt it.

DA

That's also the same day Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D Season One comes out on DVD/Blu-Ray.

Ooo, is it really? I hadn't heard the AOS release date yet, huh...

Might buy both.

It bugs me when it's Dick Grayson. He's…one of my heroes, as silly as it is to call a fictional character a personal hero. And he had a rough set of years, between the rape and the character assassination. :(

I would be all torn. On the one hand, I want so much painful death for anyone who ever knew about what was going on with Bucky, and on the other I'm not sure I want to see Steve a hunter. :(

I exist a double-life online when it comes to fandom. I have a name that can be attached to my real life, and the sock that is pretty much used for writing fic in comic fandoms (my profession sometimes requires me to work with children. It could be bad if people found out that I write smut, extreme violence and the fallout of the latter). I wouldn't know which one to use here, tbh. /tmi.

…the first thought in my head should not be "damn, September 9th is a long time from now"! I've seen the darn movie in the theater multiple times. The most recent time I realized I knew a huge chunk of the dialogue. Gaaaah! *flailbreakssomething* This movie has ruined me. Ruined me, I tell you!

I don't think it's in the least bit silly. Lots of people have fictional character they look up to in some way, and calling them your hero isn't that much different.

Maybe he can just hurt a couple people? Maybe Bucky already got to the others so he never gets a chance. That's a bit better, right?

Ah, you don't have to of course, it was just a suggestion. (Though there's no reason if you ever choose to become a named user you can't make another account and use it exclusively for fs or dreamwidth.) I know there's reasons for going anon, though. Sorry, I wasn't trying to be pushy!

IDK, that was my first thought as well. How am I ever going to make it that long without a decent copy of the film...

Watch the film so many times you can quote the whole thing. Only then will you be truly happy.

Half the (mentioned-a-few-days-ago) original comic art on my wall is Titans or Dick Grayson. They mean a ridiculously great deal to me. Complete character assassination of them hurts my heart in a way very few things can. And now I will stop being maudlin!

Didn't think you were being pushy about de-anoning. You're the second person in three months to tell me I should stop babbling on anon, though. :D

I might also take the flip side of the coin. Bucky goes on a rampage. Steve runs after him to stop him and remind him that the war is over and he's a good man and he doesn't have to do this anymore. Maybe kills just the wo/man that Bucky is killing in that moment, to stop Bucky from doing it himself (cliche, yes. But I'd accept cliche in this case). But then there needs to be a lot of hugging. A LOT of it. Maybe some crying. Wouldn't be adverse to some kissing, but I know perfectly well that isn't going to happen

I'm sure I will memorize all the lines when it comes out on DVD. Doing so before that could get…taxing on my financial state. :D

Ah, well, at least since comics are often changing writers you probably won't be stuck with one you hate for too long? Unless of course you hate most of them...in which case that would be a problem.

Aww, no, I didn't mean it that way. I have no problem with anons (I think anons are cool!), it's just easier to tell who people are when you have a name to associate them with. And I enjoy talking with you as well, so if you ever get a name you feel comfortable using I would friend you. (If you would even want to be friends in that situation. ... *awkward feet shuffle*)

I will take either or any of these scenarios with Bucky and/or Cap killing evil Hydra agents who totally deserve it. Any of them would make me happy. Especially if hugging comes after. It's been too long since Bucky had a hug. (Steve hasn't had a hug in just as long, right?)

Don't I know it.

*bitter* Since the DC reboot pretty much everything is wrong and horrible and the good writers get fired because how dare they want to give characters depth instead of angst? Before that, though you were correct. And it still holds true for Marvel, Image and IDW, thank god. *ohsobitter*

I promise to tell you if i ever make an DW account and you are still on FS when I do. :p

Seriously. If Cap 3 doesn't give me at least a good minute of hugging, I'm going to be damn disappointed. (Steve might have gotten a hug from Peggy at some point? But that is pretty much the definition of bittersweet, given the circumstances. And Sam seems like he might give hugs if they were needed, at least of the one-armed sort.)

*sighs* We've been compromised by two 95 year olds, one with a metal arm and the other with a spangly shield. Whoops.

:/ I never did understand why they bothered with rebooting in the first place. Seems like a waste of a perfectly good universe. (I realize things were getting convoluted, but comics fans have been dealing with that for a long, long time, so it wasn't going to stop them. I'm aware they wanted new readers but it doesn't seem like it would be worth risking the readers they already had.)

Aww, only if you want, anon.

Def could see Sam giving Steve a one-armed hug. Or any kind of hug, he's a friendly guy. Maybe Thor would? Thor would give anyone a hug. I want that to happen, now. I want Thor to pick up both Steve and Bucky at the same time and just hold them forever.

It happens.

The rebooted it because a bunch of manchildren got together and wanted to relive the 90s era of comic books. Everything is still just as complicated, because nobody at DC actually knows what is still canon and what isn't, and…apparently they think that violent, horny, overly-testosterone-driven white male teenagers and twenty-something men are the only people who read comics. And I'm pretty sure DC's definition of what that demographic likes greatly underestimates them as human beings. (They didn't care. They basically verbatim said "fuck you" to anyone who wasn't in the aforementioned demographic.)

Time will tell!

I can just picture Bucky being really confused by that scenario. 70 years of being a brainwashed assassin, and a demigod comes and picks up up and hugs him. The sheer wtf of it might help him out. :)

I'm pretty sure the last time a movie compromised me so was…um….Big Fish. Maybe.
