I don't think it's a bad thing for something to inspire your views, as long as that something isn't a bad influence. It sounds like you had already felt those ideas in the first place, and just needed an extra push to see it. The media has influenced my beliefs too, but I feel like those beliefs have made me a better person.

This is similar to what I was gonna say.

OP, you were already indulging an interest in Buddhism when you started watching this show. All it did was make it easier for you to make a decision that you were beginning to come to, anyway. There's nothing wrong with that. There's also nothing wrong with media influencing our beliefs, as long as we approach it critically.
