Oh god yes. I can't read a story if it has no paragraph breaks. I won't even try and get through it. I just see it and back button out.

The worst part was when ff.n munged some good fics that way in their incessant craze for trying to take out repeated characters so people wouldn't write "!!!!!!" or whatever - and of course, it took out all the freakin' carriage returns on a couple of fics. -_-

It makes me feel bad for the author because it's obvious they didn't mean to format it that way but I just can't read one bigass block of text.

They got no excuse. It's easy as fuck to correct that stuff.

Yeah but if they haven't on FF.net in a long time and their fics are still around, they might not be aware their fics got effed by FF.net's constant need to fix what isn't broken.

Yeah. There are some fics from 2001-2003 in there, and it's obvious the authors haven't been on ff.n in *years*.

Keep cracking the whip for your free entertainment. It's easy, but very time consuming.

Easy? Are you kidding me? Unless FFN changed their damn uploading system back to something easier it's way too much of a fucking bother. Last time I was on their you had to edit a chapter by uploading the fucking document a new. And even after you went through everything there was a 50/50 chance of FFN fucking some other formatting up while re-uploading the edited chapter.

Yeah, instant back button for me too. :(

+1

(Although I will make an exception if the fic has traditional indented paragraphs like in profic.)

Indented paragraphs are okay, but blocks of text are unreadable. It's obvious the author just doesn't care to fix it. Usually that is a sign they don't care about typos or good grammar either, though, so it's not that big a loss when I backbutton.
