hi there I just wanted to say thank you to the people who commented and sent hugs and nice things! you guys really cheered me up :)


also my dad is not actually a bad father, he's a pretty good one, but he's just... really prejudiced. I love him, but yeah. I think he's scared about the way the world is changing and things that used to be unacceptable are now acceptable, and he doesn't really know how to deal with it. so he's sort of reacting by becoming more entrenched in his views.

I won't ever be able to hate him, though. I think that if he knew what his words were doing, he wouldn't talk like that.
