yeah, I don't get that at all

also people who call THEMSELVES "trash", "garbage" etc for posting stuff about a celebrity. I follow one person like this, and it just kind of baffles me

please don't call yourself names! :(

That sort of thing sounds like they're acknowledging the mild creepiness while also dismissing it, most of the time. It's often saying, "I'm terrible and shameless about it!" (at least, wanting to be)

I sometimes say things like I'm gross/disgusting or whatever because I genuinely feel bad and creepy and/or, shy and embarrassed about myself. I don't know if you've ever felt that way after a surge of emotions/affection, but it's. weird. I think there's a weird shame thing about having "too many" feelings, which teenagers in particular can deal with. Society and all that.

Then there are people who do it because it's slang and what others do, and extreme reactions are kind of why tumblrs and teens exist.
