Re: Kinks

Well, most of my kinks were introduced to me when I obsessed over one particular pairing. And there was one particular guy I liked topping, and one bottoming (this pairing went either way to the point where the fandom's ship wars were mostly about which one topped, not other pairings). Anyway, so certain kinks were introduced to me, and I guess I only like one character "giving" it. But they became general kinks as I moved on to different pairings. Namely, bondage, BDSM, petplay.

With me it's weird, it depends on the characters, but for some characters I have a strong preference for a top/bottom dynamic, while with others I just can't see them as anything else but versatile.

That's normal, I think. I'm the same way. I like versatile m/m pairings a lot, but some just are more exciting to me with a single top/bottom dynamic.

I've kind of outgrown the yaoi wars of defined semes/ukes but you know, some pairings I just like better with a particular character as top or bottom. At very least, it's an aesthetic preference.

I'm the same way. My previous favorite pairing I completely saw as versatile (while there were all sorts of seme/uke wars going on) but my current favorite pairing I can only see a specific top/bottom dynamic.

Kinda reminds me of the SasuNaru and NaruSasu wars. Those were ridiculous. Is that still a thing in that fandom? And is who tops/bottoms still a huge, serious thing in anime fandoms?

Naruto wasn't the fandom I was talking about, so I don't know - and I'm not currently in any anime fandoms (still love anime, just not in a fandom). But I imagine so.

If the SJWs who claim that yaoi is a horrible crime against the LGBT community and real gay couples never have tops and bottoms haven't changed things, idk.

Huh, I'm a bit surprised. Because the first fandom I think about when top/bottom wars? What fandom was it? And now, I want to know if it is a huge deal in live-action fandoms.

Kinda makes me want to dip my toes into anime fandoms on tumblr and find out.

The fandom was Death Note. L/Light vs Light/L. I think it was so crazy because both sides had a vast disagreement on the nature of the characters. L in particular.

That mindset makes me laugh so much because there are gay guys who don't even like to have anal sex.
