TV Shows You Grew Bored With
(Anonymous) 2014-06-01 11:03 pm (UTC)(link)I also find myself growing bored of shows probably more easily than most people. The only shows I've ever really had interest in from start to finish were Lost, The Office, Breaking Bad, and Mad Men. In fact, I'm worried that I won't have anything great to look forward to anymore after Mad Men ends next year. =( Even Game of Thrones...I've always felt I don't like it as much as everyone else, especially since I didn't like season 3 very much, and I'm mostly sticking around with the show because I'm still interested enough to hope it will gain a lot of interest from me again (hey, I thought season 3 and 4 of Mad Men on the most part were losing me, but I stuck around and it's become great again).
Anyway, do you have any shows you've recently grown bored with? Have you given the show up? Or are you sticking around because you've stuck around this long, might as well keep watching?

(Anonymous) 2014-06-01 11:20 pm (UTC)(link)The bad writing throughout the whole series has kilked amy enthusiasm.. I got bored with damn near everything and don't give a shit about any of the characters. Not looking forward to the next season, but will watch anyway becausr I'm a masochist.
Doctor Who
I don't care for Clara and I highly doubt she will br written any better in the upcoming series. Not even a new Doctor will lure me back into this mess.

(Anonymous) 2014-06-01 11:32 pm (UTC)(link)"Elementary" - I LOVED the first season, but I realized after watching the first few episodes of the second season I couldn't tell you the next day what kind of case they had investigated or who had committed the crime. Interesting COTW weren't crucial to my enjoyment, but that combined with how uncomfortable I felt when Joan hooked up with Mycroft led me to drop the show. :(
I also got bored with "Hannibal" this season and gave up four or five episodes before the season finale. I can only watch a bad guy get away with murder for so long before it annoys me (especially when it came at the expense of making the characters I liked seem a lot stupider than in S1).
Usually though when I give up on a show (which I do frequently, I admit) it's because something plot-related that ticks me off.

I'm starting to get bored with Castle. I still love all the characters but I miss the fun and interesting cases, and don't care about all the easily preventable obstacles put in front of the Caskett ship.

Once Upon a Time I kept up with for the first season and that was it.
Re: TV Shows You Grew Bored With
I give a TV series, especially a sitcom, three or four years. I believe that's usually the true shelf life, even though most shows tend to go on for a long, looong time after that.

Doctor Who. I loved Nine's run and while I didn't see all of Ten I enjoyed what I saw, and hell I even liked Eleven's in the beginning but as it went on I just got more bored and uncaring and now I cba trying to watch it again.

(Anonymous) 2014-06-02 01:38 am (UTC)(link)Brooklyn Nine-Nine. It started out kind of funny, but it's just sort of meh to me.
