TV Shows You Grew Bored With

(Anonymous) 2014-06-01 11:03 pm (UTC)(link)
I just realized that I used to love Boardwalk Empire. I liked it more than Mad Men, Game of Thrones, and some other shows I was watching at the time. However, partway through the 4th season I grew pretty bored with the show. I haven't even finished the whole season.

I also find myself growing bored of shows probably more easily than most people. The only shows I've ever really had interest in from start to finish were Lost, The Office, Breaking Bad, and Mad Men. In fact, I'm worried that I won't have anything great to look forward to anymore after Mad Men ends next year. =( Even Game of Thrones...I've always felt I don't like it as much as everyone else, especially since I didn't like season 3 very much, and I'm mostly sticking around with the show because I'm still interested enough to hope it will gain a lot of interest from me again (hey, I thought season 3 and 4 of Mad Men on the most part were losing me, but I stuck around and it's become great again).

Anyway, do you have any shows you've recently grown bored with? Have you given the show up? Or are you sticking around because you've stuck around this long, might as well keep watching?

Same. I'm hoping the new Doctor will reignite interest, and that Clara will have an identity beyond "weird timey wimey remember girl."

Least you won't have that problem anymore with NBC Cancelling it.

Game of Thrones. It's horribleness just got boring for me around the end of season 3. Haven't had any desire to watch 4. I got bored with SPN this season and stopped watching. And I tried to watch Fringe on Netflix, but I got bored with it about halfway through and never finished.

I have gotten bored with so many shows, it's ridiculous. I used to watch a ton of shows that I lost interest in, some of which have since been canceled. A partial list includes Arrow, Once Upon a Time, Revolution, Vampire Diaries, CSI, True Blood, V, Lost, Suits, Crisis, Supernatural, Gossip Girl, How I Met Your Mother and Hart of Dixie.

Legend of Korra.

The bad writing throughout the whole series has kilked amy enthusiasm.. I got bored with damn near everything and don't give a shit about any of the characters. Not looking forward to the next season, but will watch anyway becausr I'm a masochist.

Doctor Who

I don't care for Clara and I highly doubt she will br written any better in the upcoming series. Not even a new Doctor will lure me back into this mess.

"Grey's Anatomy" - I gave up in like... season 4 (it was a long time ago anyway). I didn't care who ended up with who romantically. I didn't care who got promoted, who quit, who died. I just did not care.

"Elementary" - I LOVED the first season, but I realized after watching the first few episodes of the second season I couldn't tell you the next day what kind of case they had investigated or who had committed the crime. Interesting COTW weren't crucial to my enjoyment, but that combined with how uncomfortable I felt when Joan hooked up with Mycroft led me to drop the show. :(

I also got bored with "Hannibal" this season and gave up four or five episodes before the season finale. I can only watch a bad guy get away with murder for so long before it annoys me (especially when it came at the expense of making the characters I liked seem a lot stupider than in S1).

Usually though when I give up on a show (which I do frequently, I admit) it's because something plot-related that ticks me off.

I got bored with Once Upon a Time in early season one, but then I came back to it. I also got bored with Agents of SHIELD after about three episodes, but I'd kind of like to give it another try. By the time I was ready though, there was a big gap between episode 4 and 11 online, and I just decided to wait.

I'm starting to get bored with Castle. I still love all the characters but I miss the fun and interesting cases, and don't care about all the easily preventable obstacles put in front of the Caskett ship.

Thank you. And the way they ended this past season was so... come on, like they're really going to do that? (Trying to avoid spoilers, but you know what I mean.)

Lost. Getting through season 3 was so hard, and I didn't come back for season 4. Loved the first two seasons though, so much. D:

Honestly I usually grow bored with a show around season 6. The Office, One Tree Hill, Friends, Big Bang Theory all hit me about season 6 where I lost interest.

Once Upon a Time I kept up with for the first season and that was it.

I give a TV series, especially a sitcom, three or four years. I believe that's usually the true shelf life, even though most shows tend to go on for a long, looong time after that.

Supernatural, I used to love it so much but after season 5 it got really, really bad and I lost all interest about 3 episodes into season 8. I don't have any urge to really pick it up again either tbh.

Doctor Who. I loved Nine's run and while I didn't see all of Ten I enjoyed what I saw, and hell I even liked Eleven's in the beginning but as it went on I just got more bored and uncaring and now I cba trying to watch it again.

The Office. I didn't get past the Jim/Pam wedding.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine. It started out kind of funny, but it's just sort of meh to me.

Penn and Teller Bullshit. I was interested in the debunking aspect of the show and it just turned into another excuse to parade around naked women. Being a het female I don't give a flying fuck about naked women. And they got rid of the naked guys. were P&T worried about people thinking they were gay? They don't seem like the kind of guys who would care about that.
