I'm actually not bothered by the reboot even though I don't enjoy it; I wasn't fond of G2 or G3.5 either, but my favorite incarnations will always still be there. The part sucks for me is trying to find fanworks of the kind I enjoy. Even if I search specifically for characters from previous gens or use filters to exclude all variations of 'G4' or Friendship is Magic' I still often wind up with more FiM content than anything else.

If people could just be better about labeling, I'd be perfectly content to just say 'to each their own' and go my own separate way.

Oh, yeah, definitely - people have issues with tagging and labeling. I'm with you 100% on that one; it's a pain for everyone.
