That's the same reason I stayed a Super Junior fan for this long. Some of their music is really amazing, but it doesn't excite me as much as their twitter arguments do.

"i couldn't care less about the music"

my inner music snob felt slightly vindicated

I'm just here to shower admiration on the group pose in the lower right.

(Anonymous) 2014-06-02 11:29 pm (UTC)(link)
All of these group poses have me so sprung. OP wins this round.

I think that's a perfectly legitimate reason.

Odd can be so fun.

I feel sort of similar about the J-rock/J-pop groups I follow. I mean, I do LOVE their music, but I don't think I'd be so invested in them if it weren't for the group member interactions, and how invested in their fans they all seem to be.

Same. I'm in it for their personalities and interactions with each other.

I understand. My favorite JPop group is partially my favorite group because I love all their music, but they're also partially because they're kind of insane in a wonderful way. My second favorite group is that for those same reasons. They have excellent music, but are also WEIRD. (They did a cover of the Beastie Boys' Sabotage. So if you want to hear cute Japanese girls doing that, it exists).

It's also why Morning Musume's member Sato Masaki is so damn popular; she clearly has a screw or five loose and every story of fans interacting with her is really entertaining.

Not in the K-Pop fandom, but kudos to these guys for looking like they're actually having fun.
