I've always meant to try the comics because I heard they were excellent, but never got around to it. I did hear about the heartbreak bit too though, so that kind of...makes me wary of them. How long are they?
Ooo, we should call you Bucky-anon! (~so~ original, I know) Hi again!
AYRT
(Anonymous) 2014-06-03 12:07 am (UTC)(link)Comic run was 32 issues long, and it's been collected both into 5 trades and two larger anthologies. The latter are an excellent price.
I won't lie. The end hurts, but that's only because the ragtag group of antiheroes is so damn endearing. Makes it hard for me to do anything to do but recommend the comics, especially when they are so superior to the movie. If nothing else, reading it for Jensen's boxers. :)
Bucky has consumed everything else about my life, why not my name as well? :p
Re: AYRT
32 issues is rather short, actually. Huh. Might try it.
Mmm Jensen in boxers. That was one of the reasons I had an interest in them in the first place. I'm easy.
Truer words, my friend.
Re: AYRT
(Anonymous) 2014-06-03 01:50 am (UTC)(link)As I said, I'd have a hard time not reccing The Losers to someone who found the movie enjoyable. Especially if you understand there is heartbreak.I was reading it on release days and...yeah.
:) Jensen is a badass dork in the comics just as much as the movie. Highly enjoyable character.
Apparently I am typoanon tonight. 3 hours of sleep is not enough...
Re: AYRT
I DO love heartbreak, but I'm also the kind of person who typically likes a happy ending after that heartbreak. Still, that can't always happen.
I am admittedly a bit biased towards Evans in general, but he did a great job with Jensen.
3 hours of sleep is not nearly enough! Geez, how were you even managing? Try to get more sleep tonight!
Re: AYRT
(Anonymous) 2014-06-04 02:47 am (UTC)(link)Eh. I can't say anything more about the heartbreak without spoiling things completely, and I don't know how far your knowledge spans.
I get about 5 hours tonight. Currently I work incredibly long hours M-Th. Friday and the weekend I pass out and don't move. Thanks for the concern. <3
