This is more of a moment of faint amusement, but it's still annoying because I've been unemployed for over 3 months. I applied for a customer service representative position for a major health insurance company. I wasn't selected, and here's a couple choice lines from the rejection email: "Unfortunately, we will not be able to consider you for this position at this time. Although your skills and qualifications are impressive, we have identified other candidates whose experience more closely fit the specifications of the position." I love corporate backhanded compliments. < /sarcasm > Don't get me wrong. I'm glad they had the decency to let me know I'm no longer being considered, but it's still a strange thing to see in my inbox and doesn't quite help me figure out how to be employed for them (which I'd be willing to go for since the people I've interacted with in the interview process for other roles are pretty cordial, and the HR department at this point does not make me want to kick puppies).
