I'm not sure how I feel about this. I wouldn't be too surprised if people took female-named hurricanes less serious.

IIRC, Katrina was the deadliest hurricane since the 1920s, even though it was only a category 3 and the unique combination of where location was caused damage much higher than intended mostly by flooding, not the hurricane winds. Factoring that incident in seems unfair.

They actually didn't count in Katrina, or Hurricane Audrey, considering them outliers.

"average hurricane kills 3 people a year" factoid actualy just statistical error. average hurricane kills 0 people per year. Katrina Georg, who lives in America & kills over 10,000 each day, is an outlier adn should not have been counted
