It's been a lot of hard fucking work and discipline.

People do tend to put it down to genetics, it's very irritating. That assumption is a double edged sword - not only does it handwave all the hardwork and will power that goes into staying in shape, but it makes other people feel as if they can't achieve the same because 'genetics'. Grrr.

Good cheekbones are the best thing to have. :)

Hahah anyone who's seen my parents should be quickly dissuaded of the "genetics" argument. While my older brother is also still in great shape, he's a gym rat, and my little brother's already sliding into beer gut territory in his late 20s.

Which is unfortunate, because I've had people do that "lol oh you can eat anything you want and you're so skinny because metabolism so lucky/just wait until it runs out/etc" so many times. No, I'm this skinny and I can eat whatever I want because I'm running 5k uphill later today. And hitting the gym to lift tomorrow. Of course, not everyone would have the same result because it's much, much harder to lose weight than it is to stay at the same weight - the trick is to never gain it in the first place, which I realize is agonizingly difficult in our modern world and with all the shit that goes down in life. Oh, believe me, I realize. I gain weight like everybody else when I slip out of my routine.

Lol thanks but I definitely didn't earn those ;p
