What is going on in 17? Is that hair braided into a net in front of the person's face? That is a stylist with too much time on their hands.

It's a mask, iirc. Not sure why it's in with the hairstyles.

I'm pretty sure it's actually a headpiece made from squares of wood linked together. Not sure why its included as a 'hairstyle'

They are pretty. Costume and hair were pretty much my fav. part of the show when I was watching.

It makes me wish that I was capable of doing things with hair, but alas, I am not that skilled.

Maybe someday I will be, but not yet. |D

Most of the time the only thing I like about anything is the hairstyles and clothing.

I can't stand the Southron hairstyle from the first two seasons. With the giant updo and the tail on either side of the neck. It's great that it's unique and reads as something that could be popular in another world, I just hate how it looks.

While I didn't love that look, I dislike how they pretty much abandoned it. They invented such a distinctive look, then settled back down to bog-standard fantasy chick long waves with twisty bits at the sides (lbr, easier for wig masters to make/maintain).

I really liked that Cersei had both a formal 'do and an informal one. And Margaery is not really cause enough, as Cersei was wearing it like that (informally) since the second episode. Now it's the only one in KL, seems like.

I love the hair (and costumes!)

I agree. The hairstyles are just as much beautiful costuming as the clothes they put the actors in.

I live for Cersei's hairstyles haha

I love Margaery's hair. I even started doing my own like that, but only when I'm around the house because it's a bit silly and very indulgent to wear my hair like a character from Game of Thrones.

That wildling girl's hair is also fascinating. I sometimes copy hers instead (they're quite similar, which intrigues me since they're supposed to live in entirely different kingdoms).

The hair in Vikings is even more amazing. All that intricate braiding. I can manage a side fish plait, but any more than that and I'd need a helper.

Is it a sarcastic secret?

Those are some very nice hairstyles, indeed.

I love how Loras is the only guy on this.

Haha, I noticed that too.

I'm actually growing my hair out so I can wear my hair like some of these. :P There are a surprisingly large number of tutorials for GoT hair.

(Anonymous) 2014-06-04 11:41 am (UTC)(link)
Maybe it's just that the pictures are so small and I don't see it but... almost all those hairstyles are the exact same brand of "mostly worn open, kind of dishevelled, some braids to keep it from falling in the face". That's.... really not very original.

You've got it anon. I don't get it either. I don't know if they could be more boring if they tried.

(Anonymous) 2014-06-05 02:55 am (UTC)(link)
I loved Dany's khaleesi hair. Such braids! I could never, but they were super interesting.
