I remember when this started becoming a thing back in my soap opera fandoms. I just brushed it off and went, "haha, really?"

BUT THEN IT SPREAD LIKE THE HERPES D:

The worst was when it hit the Final Fantasy fandoms. Until the FF8 fandom figured out how horrifying the portmanteau of Quistis and Seifer sounded (and switched to "Seiftis" instead), readers were subjected to Quiefer after Quiefer. Yay for pussy farts.

There are a few over here, filters applied, if you go back far enough. Half the time they couldn't decide how to spell it, apparently.
