Re: Spoilers....ish I guess?

... I'm coming in late because I've had RL stuff the last few days and am catching up on f!s but...

THANK YOU for describing the movie thus. I have wanted to see it but the impression I was getting from a LOT of people were that they were upset because it wasn't faithful. I did not realize it was supposed to be an AU. Between your comment here and some of the others, I am even more excited to see it than I was before.

I mean, I'd planned on seeing it anyway because the trailers looked gorgeous, but this really helps for where my mindset should be going in. I actually have quite a fondness for fairy tale AUs, so... this sounds really right up my alley. (I'm the crazy person who loved Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters, for instance. Campy as hell? Sure. But it was FUN. And lots of eye candy. And awesome fight scenes.)

I ended up not seeing Oz the Great and Powerful upon finding out that the trailers lied and that it was All About A Man. Ugh. The thing I loved so much about the Oz books was that they were about so many strong women (hello!? can we get a movie with fucking Ozma already!? Besides the 80s Return To Oz, which I admittedly adored for its creepiness, because I was a strange child, but she wasn't in the movie until... right near the end).
