If it credits the illustrations to Stephen Gammell, get it.

The stories themselves range from moderately gruesome urban legends ("The Hook," "The Red Spot," "Oh, Susannah!" to folktales to a few comedy stories. The illustrations are what ramped up the nightmares for most readers.
