if dc really cared about diversity, they'd be making the major characters like superman and batman poc, instead they're just doing the minor secondary characters who they already replaced with their predecessors (bertinelli with helena wayne, west with barry allen)

Oh I know they are doing this to Wally so they can say they tried and then kick him back to limbo. There's nothing genuine about it.

I'm slightly hopeful about Bertinelli, though.

If DC really cared about diversity instead of just paying lipservice to it, or trying to copy what Marvel have done with Miles Morales and Kamala Khan (only DC doing it in a half-assed manner), they'd be creating ALL New Characters and Heroes who were non-white. Just using pre-existing characters and changing their ethnicities kinda smacks of DC basically saying that they don't think black people can carry a book on their own.

YES.

I will suffer and say that sales have shown that black characters generally don't fare well in solo books UNLESS they're already well established. But that doesn't mean the big two shouldn't try. At the very least they can add new characters of color to the teams. Also... VILLAINS. We can still be evil just for the fun of it!

Of course. The big-2's business model is built on the fact that b-list characters are disposable and can be killed, rewritten, or reconned by creative team after creative team in order to be "edgy."
