I'd be iffy on erasing OoT, given how involved I've been with the fandom for... what, fourteen years now? (First played it mid-2000 - a titch late, but pre-MM, at least.) Like, would that erase all the fics and art I've done for it? Would I lose the friends I've made from the fandom?

I think, since I HAVEN'T done reams of fanworks for it, I'd erase Star Wars (and then just watch the original trilogy and remain blissfully ignorant of the existence of the prequel trilogy). I didn't see it until I was twelve, and it's been a huge cultural phenomenon since well before I was born, so I'd love to watch it completely afresh and ignorant of EVERYTHING, especially Vader's identity.

Nah, you will still have all that stuff! And you could be like, "Friends, I am erasing OoT to play again. See you in a week."

Does OoT have a big fandom? What do people ship? I played it before I got into fandom so have no clue.

Ooooh. In that case, hell yes!

And it's a subset of Zelda fnadom at large, I think. A lot of the Zelda fandom at large has their favourite game or games - one of my friends favours Link to the Past and Twilight Princess, another loves Skyward Sword the best, another is one of the biggest Spirit Tracks fans in the fandom - and we generally all get hyped up for new releases. I consider myself to be in the Zelda fandom more than anything else, it just so happens that OoT is one of my favourites.

And the two biggest ships, by far, are Link/Zelda and Link/Malon (Zelink and Malink, to use the shorthand). There are also a lot of fans of Link/separate!Sheik (*waves little Shink flag, wishes OTP had less silly name*), Link/Dark Link (doesn't have a name - some people use Dink, I, um, am not keen on it), and there's a small but enthusiastic subset of people with other ships, like Link/Ruto. There's also a much smaller subset of people who ship characters that aren't Link, especially femslash fans. A lot of people multiship, though - my main ships are Link/Sheik, Zelda/Sheik, and Link/Zelda (and, er, the OT3 version with all three), and I think Zelda/Malon is cute, and have seen well-written Link/Malon, Zelda/Aveil, and Zelda/Ruto... multishipping is just more fun XD
