holy shit, you write like Conan Doyle. The letters are a tad taller, but otherwise... I'm envious.

Pro-tip: any handwriting looks fancier when you tilt the paper, so that you're writing your letters towards the corner. When I sit facing the table straight on, my paper is tilted so that the long edge/ruling is almost closer to me than the short edge. No matter what your handwriting is like, that will always make it look fancier. Also, ink/gel pens are better than ballpoint pens for this sort of them. :P

You know, you're right on the gel/ink pens. I remember them looking ten times cleaner than a ballpoint ever did.

Ball point pens are very good for print, because they require a wee bit more pressure, meaning they favor writing with straight lines, lifting and setting down the pen on the paper a lot, etc. Gel pens, ink pens, and the like don't require pressure but do work best when the ink is flowing, so they allow flowing movement better and favor lifting the pen from the paper as little as possible, which is why they are better for cursive. Fountain pens, if you get a good one, are a mix of both in that they are dependent on ink flowing, but also require pressure to work (if not much), so they still are better with print but allow for a more flow/cursive-ish appearance.

*actually follows a blog about pens*
