Np, I keep checking old posts anyway.

I'll just rely on the author, then! I don't think he'll screw it up, either, but my experience tells me anything good can be spoiled if sufficient effort is made :/

Regardless of that, thanks for answering and for the rec. Though the main reason I picked Bridge of Birds was because of its warmth (I had just finished The Monstrumologist and was desperate for something to mend my broken heart), this genre does strike me as a very interesting phenomenon, and I may check Bramah out once I'm done with my Julian Barnes&Karamzin.
