but it says in the secret that he was high. Shouldn't that be a mitigating factor? Unless people are no longer allowed to think words either these days?

...No?

I admit right now that I'm not familiar with how people act while high, but when people are drunk for example, usually what they really think comes out.

I have no problem giving this guy no sympathy for the backlash upon him despite however he was altered as long as there are people who will try to defend him because at the end of a day, he used part of a slur.

*shrug*
Never had a joint, so idk how mind-altering it is. If it causes people to do more free-association and idk, I would tend to be more lenient than with alcohol, because it doesn't necessarily mean they think that stuff, it could be maybe they heard something that sounded like the word and repeated it, idk.
Whatever, I don't even know who this guy is so I don't really care.

(Anonymous) 2014-06-05 11:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Dude, I've been high before. Not once have I said a racial slur

(Anonymous) 2014-06-06 12:53 am (UTC)(link)
It's waaaay easier to stay in control of your actions while high on weed. Alcohol is where you are more likely to act crazy and do stupid shit. The worst thing I ever did stoned was eat slightly more than I should have. So I felt full for 20 minutes. I never dropped racial slurs. (Not that I ever have...)

(Anonymous) 2014-06-06 06:30 pm (UTC)(link)
...so idk how mind-altering it is

it's not. anyone who says weed is ~mind altering~ is an idiot falling for a placebo effect - they feel 'out of it' because they think they should so they act like morons.

I'm just posting this comment to say that I agree with you.

(Anonymous) 2014-06-05 11:29 pm (UTC)(link)
No. Smoking a joint doesn't create a magical free zone where you are clear to drop racial slurs.

(Anonymous) 2014-06-05 11:37 pm (UTC)(link)
No. Marijuana isn't Cocaine or any other harder drug. It is more like alcohol. It doesn't make you do anything you wouldn't have been willing to do if it weren't for your inhibitions. In order for this to come out of his mouth, it had to be a word he actually used in his head.

(Anonymous) 2014-06-05 11:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Just because someone thinks something doesn't make them a bad person. Knowing not to say it because it hurts people is what is important.

Also that Alcohol analogy kinda excuses rapists.

(Anonymous) 2014-06-05 11:59 pm (UTC)(link)
How? No still means no even if someone might say yes, and someone without inhibitions can't exactly freely consent.

And yes, if you are white, thinking that particular word regularly enough for it to be on your mind does make you a bad person or at least a racist.

(Anonymous) 2014-06-06 03:39 am (UTC)(link)
You're full of shit. Everyone judges. Everyone has racist thoughts on some level. Like saying only white people can be racist.

(Anonymous) 2014-06-06 10:35 pm (UTC)(link)
you are TRYING. SO. HARD. to make fetch happen!

(Anonymous) 2014-06-07 10:06 pm (UTC)(link)
lol, i caaaaan't with you people

(Anonymous) 2014-06-06 12:15 am (UTC)(link)
I see... so date rape via alcoholic intoxication of the victim, or, should I say, actually willing partner that regretted the next day, is a myth.

The more you know-

(Anonymous) 2014-06-06 12:17 am (UTC)(link)
What? No. Someone with lowered inhibitions is not freely consenting. It is rape. Alcohol lowers inhibitions, it doesn't make you do something that is out of character, but lowered inhibitions means there is no actual, free consent.

(Anonymous) 2014-06-06 06:53 am (UTC)(link)
I always wonder: What if both parties are drunk? Did they rape each other in that case?

(Anonymous) 2014-06-06 12:02 pm (UTC)(link)
It sure is good to know that my SO and I have been raping each other for years.

(Anonymous) 2014-06-06 06:31 pm (UTC)(link)
you were doing better with this one, tried-so-hard!anon, but then you went at it too obvious. next secret, maybe you'll get it right! :D

ok, I have no opinion on the situation itself since idk who this guy is, but in general, no, if you are high or drunk you are still 100% responsible for your actions because you CHOSE to get high or drunk.
