What in the world do you eat that spoils that bad in a couple hours? I'm baffled.

I'm wondering this too...? Then again I'm hugely irresponsible about food, I'll eat stuff that's been out for way too long, so maybe my stomach is just tempered against it by now.

Hehe. A lot of people are, to me, really knee-jerk panicky about food. No, if you get sidetracked coming home from the grocery, and your eggs and milk have been in your car an hour, they're not 'spoiled' - they're fine. In fact, if you don't put your eggs in the 'fridge (and don't wash them with the crap we do in the US), you don't have to refrigerate them at all.

My dad used to eat bologna that was *old* - kinda slimy and horrible. He'd rinse it off and fry it, and it was fine. He and my mom both grew up during the Depression, so wasting food and/or not eating stuff just didn't happen.

It's unseasonably hot here and there was just a huge outbreak of food poisoning at a local school because they served sandwiches with mayonnaise during field day. the food was only outside for less than 15 minutes, but it's that fucking hot and it spoiled. so yeah idk man
