OBVIOUSLY they're comparable. Christ, this isn't apples and oranges, this is two points on the same spectrum that are, given the extent of the spectrum, actually quite near each other.

The word you wanted to use, but failed to, is "equivalent".

And no getting pissy about being corrected on this fairly simple vocabulary point, since the entire argument you're attempting to make is that words are important.
