I feel you, OP. That special was just amazing; inspirational, touching, and heartbreaking through and through.

But if you think about it, every time you watch something of his you're pulling him back into the limelight, and you can feel good that once again he's being remembered - not just "a Doctor" or "the First Doctor" - but as "the Doctor." And I'm sure that he'd be overjoyed knowing that 50+ years later, people are still enjoying his episodes.

Oh god, that scene was a total gut-punch, and the use of that line was perfect.

I feel like using that line in such a devastating way was payback for Ten being so whiny with it. :-P But regardless, yes, it made me cry too.
