Re: Does it weird you out when people are nice to you?

I'm the same way. I have a hard time accepting any sort of niceness from others (like gift art, or even some kind words) without having a lingering feeling that they either want something in return, or they're buttering me up to do something or what have you. I know that's not always the case, but it's honestly hard for me to comprehend that someone wants to be nice to me just out of the blue. (Hell, I pretty much stopped drawing gift art for people in fandoms, b/c I was afraid they'd think I was trying to butter them up for stuff, too)

Heck, a guy at work I like made gyoza and mentioned it on Facebook, I said he made me hungry, and he brought in the leftover gyoza the next day at work and let me have some. I freaked out b/c I thought I'd guilted him into doing it, but that wasn't the case. Uahhhh...

Chalk that paranoia up to years of being used-and-dumped by people who were nice at first, but then turned out to be, well, the complete opposite of nice. =T
