Thank you for the heads up! Animal death does hit me pretty hard, but it won't necessarily stop me from watching something.

Same with self harm and suicide, but as long as it's handled in an okay way I can typically deal with it.

The self-harm and suicide are both very plot-relevant. Given how screwed up the entire series is, so is the gore. Which is weird, because it seems like it should come of as gratuitous, and then you think about how wrong Hemlock Grove itself is and it's suddenly perfectly natural.

Obviously I haven't seen the series, but what you're saying makes a certain kind of sense to me.

I made it through Hannibal, so at this point...I feel like I can make it through anything. (I know better, but...yea, if it isn't worse than that I would probably be fine.) Most gore I can handle (though certain things do gross me out or disgust me; a couple times in Hannibal I almost had to turn away or fast forward), but I can usually weather it.

Since it's only 13 episodes it wouldn't take long to finish. Hmm.

I'm not even through with the first episode and I've felt it between Roman and his mother and then again with Roman and his cousin. Am I imagining things? I'm confused.

You're not seeing things. It's the very first "OMGWTFBBQ" thing the series chooses to hit you with.

However, by the end a mother trying to control her son's life to the point of seemingly attempting to get him to come to bed with her will seem relatively tame.

Phew. It was just made 'obvious' for the first time, but I certainly felt the tension even before. Interested and kind of worried to see more of Famke being an awful person.
