Well, I'd argue that there can be a difference between personal character interpretation and what the writers/actors intend. I don't see a contradiction between saying that the writers and Jensen do not intend for Dean to be bi and still say that his reactions to Dr. Sexy and other things mean that a bi interpretation of the character works.

But I agree that SPN is never going to be groundbreaking on sexuality and that the writers do not at all intend for Dean to be bi.

Dean was attracted to a dog and then perved on a porn star until she slept with him. I don't know why anyone would think the writers are that great, either

+1

I do think a bi reading of the character works, but I don't think that interpretation will ever be confirmed in canon. Which works for me because hey, bi people in the closet, it's a thing.

i really hate the implication that someone can't be starstruck by someone of the same sex without having your sexuality questioned. the dr. sexy thing is such a weak and ridiculous argument as to why dean could be bi.

It seemed like more than just starstruck to me, or at least it can be interpreted that way. It seemed to be or at least almost be attraction. The way he sounded when he mentioned how sexy Dr. Sexy is sounded genuinely attracted.

that still sounds like reaching to me, but w/e.

I've always thought it sounded reaching, too.
