Yes, he could or could have not - but refusing the acknowledge the possibility is sort of childish.

Well, I don't know if I'd call it childish, but I don't understand why you would completely deny the possibility just because it seems like something that very well could have happened in canon. Getting pissed at other people for thinking it might have happened is incredibly dumb though.
