Well, it WOULD make sense, except that all fandoms with more than one media have different fandoms like LesMis Book and LesMis movie Marvel Movies vs Marvel comics.

So again, why have different tags when there are different fandoms which apparently should be used instead?

I don't get why everyone is so anxious to have to specify anime, not manga in the fandom choice as well as in that tags.

PS: sorry, as a dba in real life, such lack of basic understanding of what organization means really gets on my last nerve, because the result is that I can never find what I am looking for in AO3 (the multiplication of tags and redundancy with other categories, I mean).

Anime and manga fandoms on AO3 generally don't. Harry Potter doesn't.

I'm not sure that I'm reading this sentence correctly, but if you're saying what I think you're saying: more writers specify anime in their tags because more writers watch anime than read manga. And even the people who do both tend to watch the anime first (and thus imprint on its plotlines and characterizations) and/or rewatch the anime more frequently than they reread the manga.
