I liked that bit too!! Snow anchor ftw :) I assume it would work... it took quite a hammering... 0_o

I was scrolling past and not totally paying attention the first time I glanced at this comment, and I spent a moment or two trying to figure out what Once Upon a Time pairing "Snow anchor" signified.

There's a part earlier in the same scene where Kristoff and Anna are sliding through the snow, and while Anna is sliding all over the place, flailing her arms, Kristoff positions his body into a controlled slide, his feet pointed and his arms flat on his sides. It's awesome, and it really shows the love and care that went into writing/animating Kristoff. The animators could have just had him sliding all wild alongside Anna and no one would have said anything, but you can tell that someone along the way said, "Wait, the mountains are Kristoff's home, so of course he knows how to take a fall."

I just really love that moment, because even though it's not as specifically called out as the snow anchor, just the fact that Kristoff knew how to slide without breaking a limb really shows how much the writers cared about their characters.

Ooh, that's very nice. I don't like Frozen at all, but I can't not respect them for this kind of attentiveness to their characters.

Attention to detail is awesome. :D

Man, I get the sentiment. C.S. Forester is my absolute favourite when it comes to good research. His books are basically research porn.

I'm rereading a bunch of his stuff for the nth time right now, it's so brilliant. I love him.

That's how I feel about Bertrice Small's romance novels. Even if you're not in it for the sex, the attention to detail is awesome. After reading the series that started with the Kadin, I barely had to study for the Ottoman empire part of my World History test.

The first time my husband watched Frozen he mentioned that he saw Bear Grylls do that once. He was impressed too. :P

What is it? What does it do?

It anchors the rope to allow someone to descend a cliff.

Same. The first time I watched it, my sister kept pointed it out as one of the things I'd be learning in my mountaineering class. (It would've made more sense to use a deadman though...)
