All this reminds me of is the Batman/Superman story that starts with the two of them watching a movie being filmed about them. The movie is... Really bad. Wish I could remember the title.

I have the same urge sometimes. Luckily those types of fic are always pretty easy to find! I just love me some cheesey over the top romancey badfic.

I've got no "consoling myself" or anything. I just straight up enjoy those when I'm in the mood.

I read fic like that and secretly love some of it! Like really sappy, formulaic sweeping romance with clumsy SPaG and very little plot. I also enjoy IC, technically polished, and canon-matching fic. I used to look down on the former but sometimes it's nice to read what the id desires.
