Finales

I finally got around to watching the Leverage finale and now I am full of so many feelings and smiles and have nobody to share with. Ugh it was so perfect though! I don't even usually care about canon ships and don't really like Nate but I was smiling and flailing at the screen for the whole final sequence. :DDDDD I don't think I've ever watched a finale that made me that happy (Psych came close).

To make this not all about me and open it up a bit - favorite finales?

The finale for Bablyon 5 is the all time best IMHO. Never had another series hit me so hard when it ended.

Series finales? Star Trek TNG, Futurama (the first time around i.e. "The Devil's Hands are Idle Playthings -- haven't seen the third try), AtLA, M*A*S*H, and Starsky & Hutch.

Season finales? The West Wing seasons 1, 2, and 3; Buffy season 2 and 3, Star Trek TNG season 3, Psych season 6, The Simpsons season 6, nu!Doctor Who season 1 and season 5, How I Met Your Mother seasons 1, 2, 3, AND 4 (honestly, season 4 should have been the series finale for that fucking show)...I know I gotta be forgetting a bunch but for some reason I can't remember any more off the top of my head.

I haven't watched the Psych finale but now you've made me curious.

Endeavour, House of Cards

Neverland. I think it was amazing. And for once, the plot made perfect sense (the plots in Endeavour tend to be... a bit... convoluted). And the emotional tension was bloody amazing. This episode made me friend-ship Thursday&Morse so much more. And the Remorseful Day *dies*

Also, all UK!House of Cards finales are sooo well made, narrative logic-wise. Especially the first one. It's sort of poignant, really, showing how absolutely evil Urquhart really is, but at the same time demonstrating that he willingly sacrifices the feelings he does have for the sake of his lust for power and the imaginary "good of the country".

person of interest had an epic finale this season. a real game changer. the entire premise of the show is turned upside down, and the relationships we grew to love are blown to pieces. and they used radiohead!

I don't think POI has ever had a 'poor' season finale, but this last one was their best yet. (It was certainly the most shocking and most dramatic.)

Psych for series finale. I've liked too many season finales to pick one favorite.

Hmm, Justified typically has good season finales. Bloody Harlan and Bulletville stand out as excellent episodes.

That scene between Raylan and Boyd in Bulletville ("No Raylan, I'm gonna bet my life on you being the only friend I have left in this world.") is still one of my favorites in the entire show.

Oh, and Spartacus. I fucking loved the Spartacus finale. Obviously there was only so much that was an actual 'surprise' since the show wasn't going to deviate far from history, but it was a damn strong finale and so moving. (Shut up, it was. I sobbed all through that episode, but especially during Liam's last scene with Agron and gang. Oh, and the fact that Agron and Nasir both survived made me love it even more. Someone needed to get out, someone needed to have a chance at happiness, and I was so scared they weren't going to get it.)
