Fanfic uploaded to Readmill without permission
https://readmill.com/search?q=Needled_Ink_1975
(You need the Readmill app to use the "Get this book" button)
I spent a couple of hours looking up other fic writers' names and story titles, and I found a LOT of fic there, you guys. I doubt many, if any of those writers gave permission for their works to be uploaded.
A common denominator: all of the fics I found were listed under the pseuds of AO3 users. I expected an overlap– the same story listed under a different LJ/IJ/DW/ffnet/etc. username, but I didn't find any of those. The AO3 users whose fic I expected to find, but didn't, have downloads of their works limited to Archive users only (i.e., if you're not logged in to AO3, you can still read their stories [WTF, AO3?], but the "Download" button does not show on the work).
To limit download access to your works on AO3, click the "Edit" button on each story in turn, then check the box next to "Only show your work to registered users".
Apparently Readmill is closing on July 1st, but it's been bought by Dropbox, and they may keep your fic up, if you don't ask for it to be removed.
I've sent an email to support@readmill.com demanding that my stories be removed. If your stories are on Readmill without your permission, you might like to do the same.

(Anonymous) 2014-06-09 02:09 am (UTC)(link)let the staff/admins at Ao3 know!
if there's all those fics on there, countless people don't realize their work has been essentially stolen! I know it's fanfic, but still... that's wrong.
Re: Fanfic uploaded to Readmill without permission
To quote the AO3 FAQ re: Downloads—Can I disable downloads on my works?–
"If you wish to exert more control over who accesses your works, you can choose to 'Restrict work to Archive users'. (However, you should note that posting your work anywhere on the internet, even restricted to a particular group, makes it possible for other people to save and circulate your work, even where no quick download option exists.)"
Emphasis mine. That's the Archive's backdoor out of download complaints.
But I will go open a support ticket.
