What fandoms have died, or significantly dwindled, that you wish would come back?

Leverage. Just because an anon here gave me the sudden urge to read fic from it.

Seconding. I guess I just got into the show too late as in this year oops.

I don't know as there was ever much of a fandom, though....

I kind of get it. I tend to get into fandom when the canon leaves me wanting in some aspect, but when Leverage was airing I would watch an episode and leave happy and satisfied pretty much every time.

I sort of keep hoping the Harry Potter fandom comes back in the way it used to exist once the Newt movies come out... I was always in it more for the what-if fics, the analysis, that sort of thing more than the 90% smutfic it is now. (It was always a bit overkill in smut and weird OOC fanfic, but there also used to be a balance...) Of course I'd prefer my new fandoms be like that, but they're not, so a revival's my next hope.

Firefly. There's so much to explore, and no one's doing it. Yeah, we all know the show's probably not coming back now, but all the more reason to finish what Joss started by way of fanfic.

I want there to be X-Files fic and it to be a popular fandom again. :( I started watching the show in the mid 2000s, after the show was cancelled, so I never got to experience the fandom in its heyday, which is a bummer because it's my favorite show.

I'm not into X-files, but as a chronic latecomer I hear you... there's so many shows I was either too young for or just missed for whatever reason, and I love them now but it's either almost passe to be interested in them (I'm not saying that's true of X-Files, just in my case) or there's just not that many people still interested.

Yeah, that'd be nice. I was a lurker back then and did get to watch the show during its original run, but I keep thinking how much more fandom could do now that... well, the internet is so much bigger and more accessible now than it used to be.

X-Files, Generation X - both fossils I still dearly love.

I'd be so down with that. X/1999 is epic and awesome. I got to the last volume and I was freaking. If only they'd ended it back when.

Eh, I kind of wish F-Zero would come back (80's/90's comic book-y, colorful, futuristic, loose sci-fi with fast cars. What's not to love?), but that'll only happen if there's a new game coming out since the last one (plus the shitty anime adaptation) p. much killed the franchise for the last 11 years. So I'm not holding my breath. =T

(Then again, the fandom at the time of GX was kind of a nebulous one that was mostly about time trial competitions and very little fanworks. Thankfully, most of my old crap is long gone from the face of the internet, but I had fun while it lasted)

It'd be nice if Fallout fandom outside of NMA/RPG Codex would come back.

We would need another Fallout game, for that.

Lj hetalia fandom. I know there's a tumblr one but it's mostly fanart, and the more annoying parts of the lj fandom [the corners I've seen that is].

I miss the fanfic, and the actual discussions on lj that weren't just squeeing [and no, there's nothing wrong with squeeing but...damn. It's annoying when that's *all* there is.]

YANA. The parts of the fandom that I loved the most are pretty much gone, and I don't see them ever coming back.

Stargate Atlantis forever and ever.

Oh, and I guess Tiger and Bunny because I watched it late and by then people were over it. (I imagine the new film will bring people back? ...I need to go see if it's been released.)

Death Note. Just started rewatching the series, forgot how amazing it is. And the fandom was great, too. Had its share of crazy, but also some of the most brilliant fanworks.

Left 4 Dead fandom. I remember when so much awesome fanart and fanfic had come out, but it's dwindled quite a bit now.

Marvel comics. It's all MCU or crossovers with MCU now.

Genso Suikoden.

Of course, it would help if they would quit releasing spinoffs and get back to the main games... or at least start releasing the Japanese-only games in the US.

Hotel Dusk, especially after the interview with the creator saying that the third Another Code/Trace Memory game would have had Kyle in it. And of course, there should be more Kyle/Bradley.

Professor Layton—there's still quite a bit of art, but the amount of fic has gone down significantly in the past 3–4 years.

xxxHolic, Fake and Saiyuki. Wild Adapter has never had much of a fandom to speak of, but yeah. Maybe "manga" in general. Remember that craze in like 2006 and it was EVERYWHERE. Yeah, that'd be fun.
