That's right. Nobody is allowed to be in fandom unless they only have positive opinions.

OP is allowed to be in fandom if they want. I'm just glad they weren't, because they only wanted to rant about it and people who are relentlessly negative are a drag.

No, but what's the point of being in the fandom of something that you don't like?

Why would anyone want to be in a fandom for a piece of media they can't stand? Personally I have to like the thing in order to want to be in the fandom in the first place, otherwise I'd just be surrounding myself with something I dislike and that just makes no sense to me.

no but generally you would be in fandom for things you're a fan of....

I would say nobody is allowed in fandom unless they're an actual fan (which would imply they have mostly positive opinions).

Of course, nobody can stop them from being in the fandom if they're not a fan...but why on earth would somebody want to waste their time like that?

Surely you can understand how the fans would not have missed their opinion, if all OP was going to do was rain on their parade.

I kinda agree because it didn't sound like OP wanted to be in the fandom specifically of this movie, but rather involved in fandom as a whole when it was out so they could find other people who didn't like it

but I could be totally off base
